Edith is well versed with cross-jurisdictional sector specifics of the oil and gas and mining industries under which she handles contract drafting & review, farm-in and farm-out transactions, joint ventures, oil and gas and mining finance & taxation and corporate environmental liability advisory.
Edith is an arbitration, mediation and negotiation expert on international commercial disputes in the oil & gas, mining, banking & finance and construction & infrastructure and aviation sectors.
Prior to joining the firm Edith has undertaken apprenticeship programmes in several institutions and law firms including Bowmans Tanzania.
Edith advises major telecommunications & ICT companies, conglomerates in the mining & metals business and licensed aviation service providers on corporate management, restructuring and finance. She also services capital intensive public listed companies in corporate investigation and in preparing and updating legal compliance models.
Edith has been advising operators in the construction, wildlife, tourism & leisure sector and the consumer product and retail sectors on complex multijurisdictional merger & acquisition dealings.
Edith has advised an international strategic investor in the telecommunications sector on the enforcement of bank guarantees in the advent of COVID-19 in Tanzania, she has also conducted corporate legal audits for operators in the telecommunications and construction sectors.
Edith holds a Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B Hons) and a Master’s degree of law in Oil and Gas from the University of Dar es Salaam, where she has received recognition and awards for being the best overall student throughout her study years.
She has undertaken arbitration qualifying courses with the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators
(TIArb) and is currently simultaneously training to become an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a certified capital markets securities legal expert with the Tanzanian Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA).
