Bertha is a vibrant and ardent Corporate-Commercial Lawyer and investment Advisor with vast knowledge and experience in Construction, Wildlife and Tourism, Environment and Climate, Mining, and Energy. Bertha advises clients on the most complex legal issues in the referred sectors and represents operators in high-level Government and stakeholders’ engagements, commercial and labor ADRs, and litigations. Bertha advises multinational corporations on competition-related issues for international construction service arrangements. She has been the lead counsel advising stakeholders on various construction ventures on feasibility studies, tendering and contracting, project management, regulatory compliances, claims management, HSE, ISO Standards, and Human Resource Management. Driven by profound interests in business and commercial transactions, Bertha has earned the name of “Deals Closer” for strategically closing business deals on behalf of clients due to her strong ability to analyze complex legal issues, providing concise strategies, innovative solutions and assist clients in negotiating their interest with the highest degree of professionalism and diligence. Bertha is passionate about sustainable climate, wildlife management, and education. She is currently setting precedent as a skillful and well-informed legal advisor for climate change and its impact mitigation initiatives in Tanzania; advising on climate change legal frameworks, carbon offset project registration and validation, feasibility studies, and environmental-related impact assessment and compliance. She has been instrumental in setting up what is set to become the largest nature-based voluntary carbon offset project in Africa on behalf of clients. She is also very involved in advocating for policies and regulations that address climate change impacts and the protection of natural biodiversity.
